  • Procurement Expenditure in Kerala :

    Kerala is located in the Malabar coast of India. The name Kerala is derived from the word "Kera"  which means coconut in Malayalam. As Kerala is abundant for coconut plants, it got the name Kerala. The population of Kerala in 2023 is estimated at 35.77 Million. The State has the highest literacy rate in India with 94% compared to the national average of 74%. It produces a significant amount of national output of the cash crops such as Coffee, Tea, Pepper, Natural Rubber, Cardamom and Cashew in India. The GDP of Kerala is estimated as 99.99 lakh Crores (i.e. USD 125 Billion) in the year 2022-23. The Government procurement of Kerala is estimated at USD 15 Billion, assuming the Government procurement expenditure at 12% of GDP. A total of 440 State Government agencies and Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) advertise tenders for procurement of goods, works and services in Kerala.   • INR 1,515 crore for science park in Thiruvananthapuram.:

    The Kerala Government is planning to establish four science parks in the state, with the first one will be built in Thiruvananthapuram on 14 acres of land at Technocity, adjacent to the Digital University campus. The park will be built on the Harvard University model. The project is expected to cost INR 1,515 crore, with the government providing Rs. 200 crore in funding and KIIFB contributing Rs. 975 crore. The remaining balance will be obtained from various sources, including industry partners.
  • Plan to set up four RVSFs in Kerala.:

    The Kerala state government has planned to construct the most extensive registered vehicle scrapping facility (RVSF) in the state on a 6.5-acre plot in Parassala. The KSRTC will be the implementing agency for the establishment and operation of the RVSF, which will operate under a 15-year public-private partnership model. Additionally, this RSVF is planned in three more places, including Edappal, Chittur, and Kanhangad.
