Several hundreds of government offices in Kerala will need to be maintained for which painting works are regularly undertaken. Last year, close to three hundred tenders were published by the government agencies in Kerala for painting works. Unless road and canal construction, where one or two agencies specialize in handling the work, the painting works are undertaken by a large number of procuring entities. Though painting the buildings account for majority of the advertised tenders, agencies such as the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) advertised tenders for painting of storage tank and the Indian army engaged agencies to paint vehicles. Also, the Airports Authority of India called for bids to paint the airport runway, apron and taxiway.

Kerala, also known as the god’s own country, is known for its greenery and backwaters. A lot of importance is given to greenery development in the State. There are over 50 national parks and botanical gardens in the State such as the Periyar national park, Marine drive park and Brindavan garden. About 275 tenders were published last year in Kerala for park development. Kerala tourism development corporation, LSGD Kerala and the department of forests and wildlife actively advertised took up the development of parks and gardens in Kerala. Many different parks are constructed such as the children park and eco friendly park. Also, landscape development and garden maintenance works were undertaken.

A significant percentage of these tenders were published by the department of Irrigation, Kerala.
