The Water Resources Department (WRD), Government of Bihar (GoB) has established a Flood Management Improvement Support Centre (FMISC) under the overall supervision of the Chief Engineer (CE), Planning and Monitoring, to develop and operate the Flood Management Information Support Centre (FMISC).\nThe decision to establish the Data Centre at FMISC was made at a Cabinet Meeting Decision led by the Chief Minister on 21/06/2019 (41-(08)-79-2019).. The Data Centre was established at FMISC with the goals of ,improving ongoing flood forecast modelling, inundation modelling, early warning system, application, and website hosting, and so on; catering to the need for an established Mathematical Modelling Centre (MMC) at Patna and a Physical Modelling Centre (PMC) to be established at Birpur; and collecting hydro-met data via Real-Time Data Acquisition System (RTDAS).\n\nThe objective of the operation and maintenance of IT infrastructures is to ensure that the organization's (FMISC- Data Centre) IT systems and infrastructure are functioning efficiently, reliably, and securely to support the organization's objectives. This involves a range of activities, such as monitoring the performance of hardware and software components, identifying, and resolving issues, maintaining software and hardware components, and implementing security measures to protect against threats. The main goals of operation and maintenance of IT infrastructures are:\n(i) System availability: Ensuring that IT systems are available to users when needed and minimizing downtime.\n(ii) Performance optimization: Optimizing the performance of IT systems to ensure that they meet the organization's requirements.\n(iii) Security and compliance: Ensuring that IT systems are secure and comply with relevant regulations and standards.\n(iv) Cost optimization: Reducing the total cost of ownership of IT systems by implementing cost-effective maintenance practices.\n(v) Continuous improvement: Continuously improving IT systems' performance, reliability, and security through regular maintenance and upgrades.\nThe scope of work for the operation and maintenance of IT infrastructures is broad and includes a range of tasks that require technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to issues in IT infrastructures @ Data Centre. The scope of work for the IT infrastructure operation and maintenance includes, but is not limited to:\n(i) Monitoring and troubleshooting\n(ii) System updates and upgrades\n(iii) Maintenance of hardware and software\n(iv) Facilities Management Services\n(v) Security\n(vi) Performance optimisation\n(vii) Backups and disaster recovery\n(viii) User support:\n(ix) Documentation
