The Government of West Bengal has allocated significant budget to take care of pregnant women and infants by providing nutritious food to the people. In the State, there are more than fifty thousand Anganwadi centres distributed across the state. A key project taken by the government to improve Anganwadi’s is Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) to improve nutritional outcomes for lactating mothers and children. For improving the Anganwadi infrastructure in the West Benga; State, an excess of four thousand tenders were advertised during the last year.In these tenders, the government agencies such as Zilla Parishad sought to construct new Anganwadis and improve the existing Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) centres.. Zilla Parishad West Bengal and West Bengal Women Child Development Social Welfare (WCD&SW) were mainly involved in the development of Anganwadi infrastructure.

Nearly twenty million households have access to electricity in the state of West Bengal. In an effort to provide reliable electricity, the government of West Bengal has established over one hundred and twenty-five substations and twelve thousand kilometers of high-voltage transmission lines spread across the state of West Bengal. Funds are continually allocated to improve the power infrastructure under various initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gramme Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY).
