INR 605 crores for the Palampur ropeway
The state government of Himachal Pradesh has proposed a 13.5 km ropeway project connecting Palampur with Chunja Glacier in the Dhauladhar hills, situated at a height of 12,000 feet above sea level. This project is estimated to cost INR 605 crores and will be executed by NHAI. The DPR for this project is being prepared and is expected to be completed in the next two months.

Himachal Pradesh has close to a hundred operational electrical substations that play a crucial role in the state's power distribution network. During the past year, the state government published over 1700 tenders for the development of electrical substations. These tenders were mainly advertised by the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) to modernize substations. Tenders were published for augmentation of existing 11/0.4 kV 100 kVA to 250 kVA at various substations. Also, tenders were published for the restoration of burnt AB cable HT line with XLPE cable to existing 63 kVA 11/0.4 kV S/Stn.
Himachal Pradesh boasts a vast road network that spans more than 38,000 kilometers, and the state is constantly working to enhance drainage and road connectivity. The state government has improved road and drainage infrastructure under the schemes Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Smart City Mission. In the last year, more than 3000 tenders were published for road and drain construction projects. The Public Works Department (PWD) was the primary agency advertised for the tenders across the state. The Himachal Pradesh Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Policy was the key government initiative taken by the state government to improve the elevated storage reservoirs. An excess of 180 tenders were published for the purchase of elevated storage reservoirs across the state. These tenders were primarily managed by the water authority of the state. Tenders were published for the running and maintenance of the existing Overhead Steel press tank by dismantling and re-crecting the tank at the existing locations.

In Himachal Pradesh, there are more than 10,000 public water storage tanks, including overhead and underground tanks, serving a variety of rural and urban populations. The government has launched the Jal Jeevan Mission and the National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) for the development of water storage tanks. An excess of 40 tenders were published for water storage tanks during the last year. The Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation and the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department were the key advertisers for the development of water storage tanks. Tenders were published for the procurement of annual rate contract for the supply of modular steel water storage tanks. Also, tenders were published for repair maintenance of external water supply distribution lines and certain connected works.
Himachal Pradesh is one of the few states that strives to provide continuous electricity to every household across the state. More than 26 lakh consumers are provided electricity by the State. The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) and Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana (Saubhagya) were the government initiatives to improve electricity infrastructure in the state. During the last year, over 180 tenders were published for the procurement of electrical equipment across the state. These tenders were advertised mainly by the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd. across the state. As of 2022, there were 727 government hospitals in the rural areas of Himachal Pradesh. The patients visiting these hospitals will need to be provided with medicines. To address this requirement and to improve the overall health infrastructure in the State, the government of Himachal Pradesh has implemented various initiatives, such as the Himachal Pradesh Health System Development Project and the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), to enhance the procurement and distribution of medicines across the state. According to the India State of Forest Report (ISFR) 2021, the state of Himachal Pradesh has a total forest cover of around 15,433 square kilometers, or about 27.48% of the total land area. Additionally, tenders were advertised for collection, transportation, processing, and disposal in wards across the state.
Himachal Pradesh has an adequate number of official cars for use in government sectors, and each year, maintenance and the purchase of new vehicles are required. More than 400 tenders for car rental services were published during the last year. The Directorate of Animal Husbandry was the key advertiser for publishing tenders for vehicles such as Toyota Etios, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Bolero, or equivalent models. Additionally, tenders were issued for monthly cab and taxi hiring services to meet ongoing transport needs.
