• Procurement Expenditure in Himachal Pradesh:

  Himachal Pradesh is a North Indian state in the Himalayas. It features beautiful peaks and river systems. The state has a strong Tibetan presence, which is reflected in Buddhist temples and monasteries. The geographical area of the state is 55,673 sq km. It has 12 districts, of which Lahaul and Spiti are the largest in the state. Shimla is the capital of the state. Agriculture is the state's predominant source of income. The GDP of the state for 2021-22 is projected at INR 1.92 Lakh crore. When the government's expenditure is estimated at 11% of GDP, then the government's procurement in value terms amounts to INR 21000 Crores. A total of 119 government agencies and public sector undertakings in the state publish tenders for goods, services and works. The major procurement agencies are the Family and Welfare Department, the University, Science and Technology Department, the Municipal Corporation, the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, and the Transport Department.

• HRTC to add 300 e-Buses for INR 400 Crores by 2025:

  The state transport department of Himachal has planned to convert all its petrol and diesel official vehicles to electric ones. With a budget of Rs 400 crore, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) is set to add 300 more e-buses. The HRTC aims to replace all its existing buses with e-buses by 2025. Also, the State Government has plans to equip all the government departments with e-Vehicles within a year!

• DPR for 8 heliports prepared in Himachal Pradesh:

  The Himachal Pradesh government has given approval to set up eight heliports in various districts of the state. Land has been allocated by the concerned District Commissioners for construction of these helipads. In the first phase of the project, heliports will be built in Sissu, Jispa and Rangrik in Lahaul Spiti district, Sarvo in Kinnaur district, Sasan in Hamirpur, Rakkar in Kangra, Sultanpur in Chamba and Pirdi in Kullu. Further, development an existing helipad at Sultanpur in Chamba into a heliport is envisaged under this project. Pawan Hans is engaged as a consultant for preparation of the Detailed Project Report from the 1st of March, which the State government will submit to the Center seeking funds. 

• INR 35 crore to provide sewerage facility for three towns in Kullu:

  The government of Himachal Pradesh intends to provide sewerage facilities to three towns - Patlikul, Katrain, and Naggar - in Kullu. The Jal Shakti Department has prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for this project, which is expected to cost INR 35 crore. Additionally, there is a proposal to set up an eco-friendly sewerage treatment plant (STP) in Manali.
