• INR 151.81 crore allocated for Development of Visakhapatnam Harbour:

  The Visakhapatnam fishing harbour is going to undergo development works at a cost of INR 151.81 crore. This fund is allocated under the PM Matsya Samriddhi Yojana, part of the Sagaramala scheme, to carry out repair and construction works at harbour. Under this project, various amenities will be built, such as two large air-conditioned auction halls, restrooms, administrative block, a canteen, vehicle parking, fish retail shops, net-mending hall, cold storages, emergency fire station, 20 mechanical and 10 solar dryers and internal roads will be constructed for drying fish. Also, the existing dry navigation system will be improved as part of the project. In the modernization work of the project, a floating dock is planned to be constructed parallel to the zero dock and an effluent treatment plant will be set up in Bukka Canal. The foundation for the project has already been laid by the Prime Minister.
