• Procurement Expenditure in Uttar Pradesh :

  Uttar Pradesh is the most populated state in India with about 200 Crores and its GDP is the fourth largest in India. The GDP of Uttar Pradesh is estimated at USD 240 Billion for the year 2022-23. When the Government procurement is estimated at 15% of the GDP,  the value of procurement undertaken by the State Government department and the Public Sector Undertakings in Uttar Pradesh amounts to USD 36 Billion. About 500 procuring agencies in Uttar Pradesh advertise tenders for purchasing goods, works and services required by the State. These agencies fall under different categories as in Municipal Corporation, Agriculture department, University, District Administration, City Development Authority and Housing and Urban planning.

• Construction of the new Vidhan Bhavan building:

  The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated an initial budget of INR 50 crores for the construction of a new Vidhan Bhavan (legislative) building. This building will be constructed similar to that of Central Vista in Delhi. A consultant will soon be hired to design and architect the building. The envisaged structure is expected to be start of the art with facilities such as gymnasium and recreational facilities, a large car park, eco-friendly and earthquake proof. This building is liekly to be constructed in a land parcel of 160 acres, and the expected to be complete by 2027. 

• INR 1000 crore to upgrade schools in Uttar Pradesh:

  The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated a budget of INR 2,000 crore for the improvement of quality education and skill development in the recently presented 2023–24 budget. Out of the total budget, INR 1000 crore will be utilized for developing approximately 4,000 council schools in each development block under Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Composite School in the next three years. In the first phase, 704 schools will be upgraded at a cost of about Rs 1.42 crores each. These schools will be equipped with a computer lab, language lab, smart class rooms with interactive display boards , a modular composite laboratory for robotics learning,  Bal Vatika, a nutrition garden, child-friendly furniture, open gym, a solar panel and rainwater harvesting unit, modern fire safety equipment, an RO and UV water plant, a mid-day-meal kitchen and dining hall, and a washing area.
