• Procurement Expenditure in Jammu and Kashmir :

  Jammu and Kashmir is a region administered by India as an Union territory. Its economy is primarily driven by Agriculture, Horticulture and Tourism. Srinagar is the capital of the State. It has a total of 20 districts. The GDP of Jammu and Kashmir is estimated at INR 19.5 Million Lakhs for the year 2022-2023 . When the Government procurement is estimated at 10% of the GDP, the Government procurement in Jammu and Kashmir will be estimated at a substantial 1.95 Million Lakhs INR. Further, the GDP of Jammu and Kashmir has been growing at a rapid pace in recent years. The State has 121 Government agencies and Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) which advertise tenders to procure goods, services and works required by Jammu and Kashmir. A large number of tenders are published by procurement agencies such as Agriculture production, District Administration, Municipal Corporation, Revenue and Relief department, University and Medical Supplies Corporation.

• INR 15 crore for Millets Cultivation in Jammu and Kashmir:

  The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved a budget of INR 15 crore to promote millet production and enhance its consumption in the Union Territory.  Under this project, awareness about the benefits of millet will be created among the farmers reviving the millet production from 10 quintals to 20 quntals. Besides,  60 millet processing units and 60 millet restaurants serving millet-based food products will be created. 

• A large-scale amusement park in Srinagar:

  Jammu and Kashmir's government has proposed the development of a large-scale international level amusement park in Srinagar, covering an area of 100 acres. To ensure its success, the government plans to hire a consultant to visit globally renowned theme parks, such as those managed by Disney, Universal, and Ramoji, to study their best practices and prepare Theme Park Benchmarking Study Report. This project will be carried out by the Industry and Commerce Department of Jammu and Kashmir, which may create a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to make it possible.
